SURREY CLUB FORUMS '22

We are delighted to officially open bookings for the Surrey Coaches Conference, which will be taking place on Wednesday 31 August at St. George’s College, Weybridge. There will be a variety of high quality CPD on offer for coaches throughout the day. Below is further information about the event as well as how to book on.

 

We have a special price exclusively for Surrey Coaches Group members that will be available until Sunday 7 August, so do make sure you book on early to take advantage of the offer.

Date and Time: Wednesday 31 August – 9.30am to 3.30pm (arrival from 9am).

CONTENT

Our keynote speaker will be Kris Soutar. Kris is currently a Senior Consultant for Tennis Scotland which sees him working strategically across the business. He is also a consultant for the LTA which covers a variety of areas including heading up the Level 4 Senior Performance Course, being on the internal assessing team and helping write content for various qualifications in the pathway. Kris is unique in the tennis world as he is equally comfortable working at grass roots to the high performance level.

 

Kris will be delivering on the following:

 

Session 1 - Teaching technical and tactical skill in group coaching

 

Kris will run through simple ways to systematically develop technical and tactical skills in group training. The frameworks used will empower you to develop a lifetime of skill development for all ages and stages. 

 

Session 2 - Training footwork using a game-based approach 

 

Kris spent 18-months working with Louis Cayer to develop a high-performance resource around an integrate approach to footwork. In this session, Kris will run you through lots of different ideas to train quality footwork within tactically specific situations. 

 

There will be further choice of sessions available in the afternoon that will be delivered by tutors from Surrey Tennis, Virtus and the LTA. Topics covered will include:​ County Training and Performance, Women and Girls, Developing a quality coaching team from within

CPD CREDITS

Up to 6 credits will be available to coaches who attend the day. Coaches will need to complete the LTA independent learning form in order to apply for and obtain these credits.

COSTS

The cost to attend the conference is £25 for coaches who are current members of the group and who sign up before Sunday 7 August. After this date, the price will go up. So make sure to sign up early to take advantage of the special offer.
