GET INVOLVED

Surrey County Training is the first stage on the LTA's Performance Pathway and is set up to support the best up and coming young tennis players in the County.

At the youngest entry level, we start to engage with players and their families through our Welcome to Surrey Tennis Open Days whereby clubs/coaches from across the County can nominate their best U8 players to attend a 2 hour session of tennis fun, parent education and informal assessment. Players that could benefit from training in a more competitive environment and are very keen to push on faster with their tennis are invited to join County Training.

Selection at the U9 and U10 age groups are made based on attendance at Talent ID days - where we look for hardworking young tennis 'nuts' who show a lot of passion and ability for our great sport! From U11 - U18 selection is based mostly on competition results using the WTN and LTA Rankings as parameters. Using our very strong and trusted coaching network across Surrey, the County Team is able to give County Training opportunities to ANY players at ANY time, meaning that we will never miss the chance to support a great young prospect just as soon as they are ready and need us!
